Dementia Forum

When my father was diagnosed with vascular or multi-infarct dementia, that's all I was told -- nothing about how it progresses, what to do to make his life and mine easier -- and certainly nothing about how he now sees the world. The more I learn about dementia the more I have also realized that its prevelance seems to be growing. The word dementia includes a number of cognitive illnesses, including Alzheimer's Disease, Pick's Disease and Frontal Lobe Dementia.

Therefore I decided to devote a link to dementia. I'll post all the information I find. If you have information you would like to have posted here, e-mail me directly at karenh@caregiver.on.ca.

On My Mind describes my current caregiving experience with my father who resides in a long-term care facility near me.

If you have a question about dementia, please post it on the bulletin board.
